<br />Page 71 <br /> <br />CONSERVATION COMMITMENT <br /> <br />The Ute Indian Tribe of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation (Ute Tribe) hereby states its intent and <br />commitment to assist with and participate in the implementation of the Conservation and <br />Management Plan for Three Fish Species in Utah, as prepared by the interagency Three Species <br />Conservation Team. Specific commitments made hereby are as follows: <br /> <br />1. To provide one staff member as a representative t.o the Three Species C.onservati.on <br />Team, which is c.omprised .of all signat.ory agencies. <br /> <br />2. T.o w.ork in c.o.operati.on with the Three Species Conservati.on Team and the Utah Divisi.on <br />of Wildlife Resources t.o c.onduct surveys and conservati.on acti.ons in hist.orical and <br />suitable habitats within the b.oundaries of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation and to assist <br />with regular status assessments .of all kn.own populati.ons .on the Reservation. <br /> <br />Performance .of all activities listed above is c.ontingent upon the annual receipt .of adequate <br />funding. This c.ommitment shall n.ot prohibit the signatory agency fr.om engaging in management <br />acti.ons regarding three species c.onservati.on bey.ond those described in this commitment page <br />and in the ass.ociated Plan. Such management acti.ons sh.ould be co.ordinated with the Three <br />Species C.onservati.on Team. <br /> <br />This c.ommitment shall bec.ome effective .on the date .of signature by the participating party and <br />shall remain in effect until the signat.ory party ch.o.oses t.o terminate the c.ommitment .or until the <br />Three Species C.onservati.on Team decides (by c.onsensus) to terminate the plan. The signat.ory <br />party will provide 90 days written n.otificati.on t.o the .other parties up.on deciding to terminate <br />inv.olvement. <br /> <br />The Ute Tribe is granted the auth.ority t.o enter int.o this c.ommitment thr.ough Executive Orders .of <br />Oct.ober 3, 1861 and January 5, 1882; acts .of Congress appr.oved May 27, 1902 and June 19, <br />1902; Article I .of the C.onstitution and By-Laws of the Tribe; Article VI .of the C.onstituti.on and <br />By-Laws .of the Tribe; and Title VI .of the Law and Order Code. <br /> <br />By signing the d.ocument bel.ow, the Ute Tribe acknowledges that it is als.o signing as a party and <br />participant t.o the wh.ole .of the Three Species C.onservati.on and Management Plan attached <br />heret.o. <br /> <br />Everett Manning, Direct.or <br />Ute Tribe Fish and Wildlife Department <br /> <br />Date <br />
