<br />Page 69 <br /> <br />CONSERVATION COMMITMENT <br /> <br />The u.s. Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado River Office (Reclamation), hereby states its <br />intent and commitment to assist with and participate in the implementation of the Conservation and <br />Management Plan for Three Fish Species in Utah, as prepared by the interagency Three Species <br />Conservation Team. Specific commitments made hereby are as follows: <br /> <br />1. To provide one staff member as a representative to the Three Species Conservation <br />Team, which is comprised of all signatory agencies. <br /> <br />2. To consider possible impacts from all Bureau of Reclamation activities on the three <br />species and their habitats and to take measures to avoid and/or initigate such impacts <br />whenever possible within constraints of Bureau of Reclamation policy and regulations. <br /> <br />Performance of all activities listed above is contingent upon the annual receipt of adequate <br />funding. This commitment shall not prohibit the signatory agency from engaging in management <br />actions regarding three species conservation beyond those described in this commitment page <br />and in the associated Plan. Such management actions should be coordinated with the Three <br />Species Conservation Team. <br /> <br />This commitment shall become effective on the date of signature by the participating party and <br />shall remain in effect until the signatory party chooses to terminate the commitment or until the <br />Three Species Conservation Team decides (by consensus) to terminate the plan. The signatory <br />party will provide 90 days written notification to the other parties upon deciding to terminate <br />involvement. <br /> <br />The Bureau of Reclamation is granted authority to enter into this commitment through 43 CFR <br />24.6, USDI fish and wildlife policy on state and federal relationships; the Fish and Wildlife <br />Coordination Act, as amended; and the Small Reclamation Projects Act of 1956, as amended. <br /> <br />By signing the document below, Reclamation acknowledges that it is also signing as a party and <br />participant to the whole of the Three Species Conservation and Management Plan attached <br />hereto. <br /> <br />Rick Gold, Regional Director <br />Bureau of Reclamation, Upper Colorado Region <br /> <br />Date <br />
