Federal, State, and City Government Agencies

Government agencies typically did not take a clear position in support or in opposition to the issue of
stocking tiger muskies in Western Colorado. They viewed this as a step in the decision process and as
an opportunity to evaluate the document as a decision making tool. Most comments from this group
focused on specific issues of concern and identified areas in which more information is needed or more
in-depth study is recommended. Their primary concerns related to the potential for tiger muskie
escapement from the stocked reservoirs and the possible impact on endangered and native fish. They
tended to be concerned that inadequate information is presented in the current report to enable
accurate evaluation of these issues. The main area of agreement was with the risk analysis of
prospective sites.

The responses from this group were typically technical and contained detailed discussions and
comments on the issues. It should be noted that this analysis attempts to summarize these comments
and isn't inclusive of all the suggestions and technical comments offered. As this project moves into
subsequ ent stages, additional review of the responses from these agencies would be needed to assure
that recovery of their suggestions and concerns is complete.

TABLE III.
