ephemeral side channel sample and the highest (32° C.) occurred during the July
seasonally inundated wetland sample. Differences in min-max temperatures were greatest
in the ephemeral side channel July sample and least in the river channel August sample.
The thermometer was lost during the July sample of the river channel. pH ranged from
7.98 in the river backwater August sample to 9.14 in the ephemeral side channel July
sample. Salinity was at its highest (.12 %) during the July sample of the ephemeral side
channel. All other sites had salinities ranging from .01 to .04%. Conductivity ranged
from 314 - 753 µmhos with the highest reading recorded in the river channel during July.
Turbidity was, in general, lowest in the river backwater and highest in the river channel.
Hardness measurements for all habitat types and sample dates were similar ranging from
9 - 24 grains/gallon CaCO3. Alkalinity ranged from 8.3 grains/gallon CaCO3 during the
June seasonally inundated wetland sample to 19 grains/gallon CaCO3 in the ephemeral
side channel July sample. All water chemstry data is presented in Table 6.
12
