<br />The Freshwater Foundation is a nonprofit corporation which built and equipped the Gray Fresh-
<br />water Biological Institute, an international research center devoted to the multi-disciplinary study
<br />of the complex problems of freshwater, In 1976, the Institute was donated to the University of
<br />Minnesota, The Foundation continues to fund and support the Institute as well as national and
<br />international freshwater programs,
<br />To help translate and interpret freshwater issues for the public, the Foundation formed the
<br />Freshwater Society, an international membership organization which supports freshwater research
<br />and public information programs, Through conferences, publications, television and radio pro-
<br />grams, the Freshwater Society brings accurate information to the public on all aspects of freshwater
<br />issues,
