<br />MEETINGS OF THE COMMISSION <br /> <br />During the Water Year ending September 30, 1995 the Commission <br />met three times as follows: <br /> <br />Meeting No. 228 <br /> <br />December 9, 1994 Adjourned Annual <br />Meeting <br />Las Vegas, Nevada <br /> <br />Meeting No. 229 <br /> <br />March 20, 1995 Regular Meeting <br />Salt Lake City, Utah <br /> <br />Meeting No. 230 <br /> <br />July 18, 1995 Adjourned Regular <br />Meeting <br />Salt Lake City, Utah <br /> <br />ACTIVITIES OF THE COMMISSION <br /> <br />Within the scope and limitations of Article I(a) of the Upper Colorado River <br />Basin Compact and under the powers conferred upon the Commission by <br />Article VlIl(d), the principal activities of the Commission have consisted of: <br />(A) research and studies of an engineering and hydrologic nature of various <br />facets of the water resources of the Colorado River Basin especially as related <br />to operation of the Colorado River reservoirs; (B) collection and compilation <br />of documents for a legal library relating to the utilization of waters of the <br />Colorado River System for domestic, industrial and agricultural purposes, and <br />the generation of hydroelectric power; (C) legal analyses of associated laws, <br />court decisions, reports and problems; (D) participation in activities and <br />providing comments on proposals that would increase the beneficial <br />consumptive uses in the Upper Basin, including environmental, fish and <br />wildlife, endangered species and water quality activities to the extent that <br />they might impair Upper Basin development; (E) cooperation with water <br />resources agencies of the Colorado River Basin States on water and <br />water-related problems; (F) an education and information program designed <br />to aid in securing appropriations of funds by the United States Congress for <br />the construction, planning and investigation of storage dams, reservoirs and <br />water resource development projects of the Colorado River Storage Project <br />that have been authorized for construction and to secure authorization for the <br />construction of additional participating projects as the essential investigations <br />and planning are completed; and (G) a legislative program consisting of the <br />analysis and study of water resource bills introduced in the U.S. Congress for <br />enactment, the preparation of evidence and argument and the presentation <br />of testimony before the Committees of the Congress. <br /> <br />7 <br />
