51
Bonytail chub. •
o No data are available regarding habitat availability-discharge relationships for
this species. It should be noted however, that observations suggest bonytail
chub utilize eddy and pool habitat, thus flows providing for eddy and pool
habitat may benefit this species.
Holden (1980) reported that bonytail chub apparently utilize eddy and
pool habitats regularly.
Razorback sucker.
o No data are available regarding habitat availability-discharge relationships for
this species.

Flow-Temperature Relationships
o most aspects of this topic are covered in the temperature section of the
physical overview chapter. Several items dealing specifically with flow induced
temperature changes and their effect on the rare fishes are covered however.
o Channel morphology changes due to flow regulation by water development
projects often lead to warming of summer water temperatures.
-Miller et al. (1982c) summarized various channel changes brought about
by flow modification as creating a wider, shallower, and warmer river.
Extreme flow augmentation during summer may cause water
temperature to decline however, if temperature declines associated with
0
