In addition, the reproductive isolating mechanism(s) <br />that may be operating between roundtail and humpback chubs should be further <br />investigated. <br />More information about habitat requirements should be developed, <br />particularly for spawning and for young-of-the-year and subadult fish. It is <br />generally believed that adult habitat within Black Rocks is relatively <br />unaffected by streamflow. We need to validate this relationship as well as <br />determine the relationship for Westwater Canyon. Further, we need to <br />determine what habitats small humpback chubs occupy and how this habitat is <br />affected by changes in streamflow. Efforts in Black Rocks and Westwater <br />Canyon should concentrate on spawning requirements as well as habitat for <br />young of the year and subadult humpback chubs. <br />41 <br />
