<br />ALTERNATIVE <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />NPS <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />NPS <br /> <br />3 <br />BlM <br />OPTION A <br />(GGSRMA) <br /> <br />OPTION B <br /> <br />(GGNCA) <br /> <br />OFF ROAD VEHICLES <br /> <br />The use of licensed motorized vehicles and mountain bikes <br />limited to park roads. The use of unlicensed vehicles not <br />permitted. <br /> <br />Same as Alternative 1. <br /> <br />The GGSRMA is divided into 3 ORV designations: (1) open <br />(15,510 acres), (2) limited to designated roads and <br />trails (26,529 acres), and (3) closed (22,078 acres). The <br />latter acreage constitutes the WSA. <br /> <br />3o1me as Alternative 3, Option A. <br /> <br />MANAGEMENT DIFFERENCES <br /> <br />PACK! SADDLE TRIPS <br /> <br />Permitted. Overnight users may be required to pack in <br />processed feeds to reduce grazing impacts and potential for <br />introduction of exotic plant species. <br /> <br />Same as Alternative 1. <br /> <br />Permitted. <br /> <br />Same as Alternative 3, Option A. <br /> <br />BOATING <br /> <br />Motorized and non-motorized craft permitted. Public use <br />managed to prevent unacceptable impacts and/or adverse <br />effects on visitor enjoyment. <br /> <br />Same as Alternative 1. <br /> <br />Recreation use monitored and possibly restricted as <br />necessary to protect valuable feature and recreational <br />opportunities. River corridor managed to maintain low <br />human group concentrations. Allocation for trips restricted <br />for commercial and private boaters. Hike-in not limited. <br /> <br />Same as Alternative 3, Option A. <br /> <br />CAMPING <br /> <br />Permitted. Open campfires may be prohibited to protect <br />biomass, reduce risk of forest fire and preclude <br />contamination of dateable prehistoric hearth deposits. <br />Backcountry use may be regulated if warranted by increased <br />levels of public use to prevent crowding, reduce resource <br />impacts, and enhance visitor experience. <br /> <br />Same as Alternative 1. <br /> <br />Open fires are generally permitted. Camping may be <br />restricted in areas of concentrated use. Open fires within the <br />WSA are prohibited. Camping may be restricted in areas of <br />concentration along the river to protect wilderness values. <br /> <br />Same as Alternative 3, Option A. <br />
