The expansion, as indicated in Figure 3, would be an <br />increase of 24,290 acres, which would include approximately 785 acres of private lands. <br />This expansion would bring the total monument acreage to 45,056. This expansion <br />primarily includes the same lands as described in Alternative 1 with the exception that <br />topographic features were followed in cases where such actions would not jeopardize <br />protection of resources or visitor use and enjoyment.
