..j ~r .. <br />. 33 <br />Island Park <br />April 13-15, 1975 <br />Species Total Catch c/f <br /> <br />flannelmouth sucker 40 .3705 <br />bluehead sucker 12 .1112 <br />channel catfish 1 .0093 <br />rainbow trout 4 .0371 <br />brown trout 1 .0093 <br />humpback sucker 2 .0186 <br />white sucker ~ ~ 1 .0093 <br />4 nets fished 61 hours <br />93, 40, 18, 26 <br />Both humpback suckers vrere caught in the same eddy on the same <br />day but one was caught in a night set and one was caught in a day set. <br />They were both found in the net at the spot wh-ere the swift vrater of the <br />current met the quiet water of the eddy. <br />The water was 4.1/2 to 6' deep in the eddy. Bottom was large cobbles <br />covered with several inches of "ooze". <br />` Seining <br />Two seine hauls were made with a 100' bag seine with 1" mesh 1 <br />_rainbow and 1 brown trout vrere caught in this manner. <br />Seining with a 15`, 1/4" mesh minnow seine in various shallow water <br />habitats. revealed the follovring small fish: <br />creek chub - common <br />redside shiner - common to abundant <br />fathead minnow - occasional to common <br />*mottled sculpin - occasiona] to common <br />red shiner - abundant <br />*speck7ed dace - occasional to common ~ - <br />Juveniles <br />flannelntouth sucker - common <br />bluehead sucker - common <br />rountail chub - common <br />trout (brown and rainbow) - rare <br />* <br />When the proper habitat is sampled they are common but their habitat <br />is limited in this area. <br />
