Through observation, accumulate as much data as possible <br />concerning the welfare of this species. <br />Last summer we went through the painful process of familiarization <br />of the area and techniques. It wasn't until. this. summer and fall <br />that any significant progress has been made. Next week we will again <br />go into the field for t~rhat will be the last field study of the season. <br />between June 28 and October 5, we have made four-such trips to the <br />following study sites: <br />June 28 to July 14 - Echo Park and Castle Park <br />July 22 to August 10 - Castle Park 'and Lily Park <br />August 24 to September 3- Lily Park <br />September 21 to October 5 - Grand Junction, Island Park, and <br />Horseshoe Bend <br />November - We propose to look at Walter Walker and the Gunnison <br />--around Grand Junction,-Echo Park, Castle Park and Lily <br />Park. <br />We began by looking at Echo Park. It was where our past experience <br />had left us. From there we began looking at Castle Park. Holden had <br />told us that he had done well there.
