However, during <br />spring 1975, 14 additional razorback suckers were col- <br />lected with electrofishing gear at station 3, from <br />spawning bars in the lower Yampa River. Because <br />electrofishing gear was used most extensively during <br />the spring of 1975, direct comparison of relative abun- <br />dance cannot be made with other collections. <br />Flannelmouth suckers (Catostomus latipinnis) com- <br />posed most of the catch made with nets and by elec- <br />trofishing, occurring about 7 times more frequently <br />than razorback suckers in the trammel net collections <br />and 5 times more often in collections taken by electro- <br />fishing. Bluehead suckers (C. discobolus) and roundtail <br />chubs (Gila robusta) were also commonly collected at <br />Echo Park. <br />Native fish made up a smaller proportion of the total <br />population in the gravel pit at station 8 than at any <br />other site in the study area (Table 4-; razorback <br />suckers totaled 0.8 to 4.2% of the catch at station 8 <br />(Table 5~, which was roughly equivalent to that in the <br />spring and fall collections at station 3.
