<br />4. At the end of the seven year research period, Navajo Dam would <br />be operated to mimic a natural hydrograph based on research flow <br />recommendations. <br /> <br />5. Reclamation affirms that releases of water from Navajo Dam <br />specifically for the purpose of restoring or enhancing the endangered fish <br />must be legally protected before any depletions occur from the Animas- <br />La Plata Project. <br /> <br />In addition, a Recovery Implementation Program for the San Juan <br />River Basin is under development and should be completed within the <br />next year. <br /> <br />3. COLORADO AND WYOMING <br />a. Savery-Pot Hook Project <br /> <br />Reclamation has submitted a Withdrawal Review Report to the BLM <br />that will terminate all the withdrawn lands, totaling 11,303 acres, that <br />were previously withdrawn from the public domain for construction of the <br />Savery Pot-Hook Project. <br /> <br />4. NEW MEXICO <br />a. Navajo Indian Irrigation Project <br /> <br />Reclamation is continuing to progress toward completion of the <br />Navajo Indian Irrigation Project in San Juan eounty, New Mexico. <br /> <br />Reclamation is providing design and construction management for the <br />Bureau ofIndian Affairs (BIA). In this process, funding is sought by BIA <br />in its budget appropriation rather than by Reclamation. <br /> <br />Congress has continued its efforts to have the project completed. The <br />fiscal year 1992 budget includes a $16.1 million budget for the project. <br /> <br />By the end of 1991, 6 blocks were completed that are capable of <br />irrigating 60,000 acres ofIand. Construction of Block 7, Schedule 3, is <br />underway and nearly complete. Block 7, Schedule 4, is scheduled to be <br />awarded in late December of 1991 or early January of 1992. The <br />completion of Block 7 will add about 10,000 more acres of irrigated land <br />to the project. <br /> <br />The entire project involves 11 blocks of construction and will have a <br />total of 110,630 acres of irrigated land. <br /> <br />48 <br />
