Location: Green and Yampa Rivers occupied by adult Colorado squawfish.
Data utilized:
1. USGS temperature records for Maybell, Jensen and Green River,
Utah gauges.
2. Criteria were based upon June monthly mean temperatures for 1974-
1984 with each temperature curve based upon the maximum monthly
mean, the mean of monthly means and the maximum monthly mean
representing three data points on the curve.
Data excluded:
CRFP grab sample and miscellaneous thermograph records because their
discontinous nature at widely dispersed sites make them impractical
for broad application.
Assumptions:
1. The period of observation, 1979-1984, reflects a period when
spawning in the Green and Yampa River was successful and,
therefore, prespawning temperature regimes are considered
adequate.
Constraints:
1. Curves were developed from USGS temperature records at specific
gauge sites and are applicable to only those gauges.
2. These curves reflect only observed conditions; they do not
necessarily reflect optimum temperature regimes.
