Data utilized:
Temperature preference experiments were carried out by Black (1982) at
Utah State University on Colorado squawfish. Data generated by these
experiments on growth-temperature relationships were adopted in the
formulation of this preferential temperature curve.
Data excluded:
Observed temperature records for these life stages in the
natural environment because they reflected selection of existings
conditions rather than selection from a broad spectrum of temperature
regimes.
Assumptions:
1. Temperature preferences exhibited in the laboratory accurately
reflect temperature preferences in the wild.
2. Temperature preferences of small size classes in these
experiments reflect those of larger size classes not tested.
