Title: Colorado squawfish spawning (deposition) substrate
utilization curve
Parameters: Numeric range of values for substrate types
Code Substrate type
1. Silt and clay
2.' Sand
3. Gravel
4. Cobble
5. Boulder
6. .Bedrock
Period: 1 Jul-31 Aug
Location: Designated spawning areas.
Data utilized:
Yampa-and Green River radio observations on spawning reaches
1981-1984.
Data excluded:
All capture and radio observations during other than the
spawning period and on other areas, not considered spawning
sites.
Radio observations of Colorado squawfish in water greater
than 5.5 ft total depth because these habitats were
considered staging/resting habitats for which separate curves
were developed.
Assumptions:
1. Substrate observations reflect a substrate preference for
Colorado squawfish spawning (deposition) behavior.
Constraints:
I.
