Colorado <br />From: State Director, Bureau of Land Management; Utah <br />Subject: Continents on Draft Humpback Chub Recovery"Plan <br />(FA/SE/Colorado Fishes Recovery Team) <br />This refers to your July 26 memorandum requesting comments on the <br />subject plan. <br />We have been involved in the planning and preparation of this pfisheries <br />through the Bureau's official representative, Mr. Bob Gervais, <br />biologist, Colorado State Office. Our state office fisheries biologist, <br />as well as our Moab and Vernal districts' fisheries biologists have also <br />attended meetings and provided input into the plan, including proposed <br />budget estimates. We feel the plan adequately represents the present <br />situation of the Humpback Chub and its habitat. <br />We offer the following specific comments on the plan: <br />Page 15, item 21, dealing with locating all existing populations . <br />R-i ~y need to update present distribution based on the results of <br />our on-going contract with you. for inventory of fishes in the White <br />River in Utah. At present, however, no ce~bsre~insbeen sampled <br />during this contract, but fall sampling y <br />Page 19, item 25, Preparation of Habitat Management Plans (HMP) <br />for Endangered Species has been given priority in BLM.
