II. Data and Assumptions

A. Period of Record

The analysis was done on a historic, water year basis <November

through October>. The period of record was from 1952 through 1983.

Diversions at the Gunnison Tunnel were highly developed during this

period, with no discernible trend. (See Appendix A.> This period also

contains a wide range of hydrologic conditions. Figure 2 is a hydrograph

.of the virgin flows above Crystal for this period.

B. Inflow Data

The inflow data for the model consists of undepleted virgin flows.

Inflow data sets above four locations were necessary for the model: Taylor

Park, Blue Mesa, Morrow Point and Crystal. The latter two have been

consolidated. It was assumed that no gains accrued to the Gunnison River

below Crystal. All inflow data have been taken from USSR input data for
the CRSS studies.

C. Water Rights Benefitting from CurecantiSubordination

Inflow data are subject to operations including evaporation under

the principal water rights examined, and to aggregated depletions under

other water rights which are either senior to the principal water rights

.
WBLA, Inc. 1909 Broadway, #3, Boulder, Colorado 80302

9
