Based on inforination learned froin aquatic research, fish sainpling, soils investigation
and e~isting site conditions such as creek hvdrolog~-, land o~vnership, vegetation, etc., the
design team ~vill identifi- potential alternatives to provide passage of the target species.
Task 5. Land Acquisition
The options identified in Task 4 ina~- require land acquisition and/or a construction
easement in order to construct the fish passage or gain access to the site for construction
activities The Project Teasn ~vill meet ~vith the e~isting lando~vner on the east side of
Fountain Creek to discuss the possibilitv of acquiring land to accommodate a fish passage
or construction access onto their propertv. Colorado Springs Utilities ~vill coinplete land
acquisition surve~-ing, legal description, agreements, etc from in-house resources.
Task 6. Identify Preferred Fish Ladder Options
Based on all of the results from Task 1 through ~, the Project Team ~vith concurrence
with the Client will identify the best option for a fish ladder.
Task 7. 60% Design and Estimate of Probable Construction Costs
Coinplete appro~iinatelv 60% coinplete design and engineering construction drawings,
details, specifications and estimate of probable construction costs.
Task 8. 90% Design and Estimate of Probable Construction Costs
Coinplete appro~iinatelv 90% coinplete design and engineering construction drawings,
details, specifications and estimate of probable construction costs.
Task 9. 100% Design and Estimate of Probable Construction Costs
Coinplete appro~iinatelv 100% coinplete design and engineering construction drawings,
details, specifications and estimate of probable construction costs.
Task 10. Permitting
Prepare Nation`vide 404 Permit.
Task ll. Prepare CWCB and CDOW Grant Applications for Construction of
Fish Ladder
Prepare grant applications to the CWCB, CDOW, USACE and others for the
construction, bidding, and construction inanageinent and grant adininistration of CWCB
and CDOW requirements for the fish ladder project.
3.3.5. Project Time Schedule
See attached Project Schedule in Appendi~
3.3.6. Monitoring Plan
The CDOW and USGS ~vill continue to sainple fish species belo~v and above the dasn site after
the fish passage has been constructed. The on-going inonitoring ~vill allo~v the fish passage flo~vs
to be fine tuned in order to ensure that the target fish is able to negotiate the passage. Ad_just~nents
will be made bv either CDOW or USGS on a regular basis. In addition, seasonal adjustments will
be inade to correspond ~vith ~vhen the target fish (or anv other identified fish species) ~vill be
inoving, and therefore, utilizing the fish passage.
