Time-line for Completion of Grand Valley Regional Water Conservation Plan <br />It is anticipated that the Grand Valley Regional Water Conservation Plan (GVWCP) will <br />be developed in a 12-inonth period. Following is the proposed tiine-line for the <br />completion of the GVWCP: <br />1. Upon approval of the CWCB grant for the GVWCP, consultant will begin collecting <br />and summarizing the background water information data for the City of Grand <br />Junction, the Ute Water Conservancy District, and the Clifton Water District. This <br />will include: <br />Step 1. Profiling the E~sting Water Systeins <br />Step 2. Characterizing Water Use and Demand Forecast and <br />Step 3. Profiling Proposed Facilities. <br />Concurrently, the Steering Coininittee will ineet to develop goals of the GVWCP, <br />Step 4. Identification of Water Conservation Goals. <br />It is anticipated that the GVWCP will be at 50% completion within 4 months of the <br />initiation of the Water Conservation Plan. At 50% coinpletion of the GVWCP, a <br />progress report will be sent to the Office of Water Conservation and Drought Planning. <br />Assuming an August 10, 2009 start date for the GVWCP a 50% completion report will be <br />sent to CWCB February 15, 2009. <br />2. During the following 4 inonths, the Water Conservation Plan will be developed <br />following: <br />Step 6. Evaluation and Selection of Water Conservation Measures and Programs <br />Step 7. Integration of Resources and Modification of the Demand Forecasts <br />Step g. Development of the linplementation Program with a timeline and plan for <br />Step 9. Monitoring, Evaluating and Revising the conservation activities and <br />WCP. <br />After Step 9 is reached, it is anticipated that the GVWCP will be at 95% completion. On <br />April 19, 2010 a progress report and draft GVWCP will be sent to the CWCB Office of <br />Water Conservation and Drought Planning and to the Board of Directors of the City of <br />Grand Junction, the Ute Water Conservancy District, and the Clifton Water District. <br />3. During the last 4 months, comments and recommendations from the CWCB and the <br />three Boards of Directors will be considered and included in the GVWCP. Once <br />comments are received and included in the GVWCP, the Plan will be announced for <br />public review for a 60-day period. At the end of the 60 days, all coininents received <br />will be considered for inclusion in the Plan and the final draft will be sent to the <br />CWCB for approval on August 16, 2010. Upon approval, hard copies with an <br />electronic copy will be sent to the Boards and the CWCB. <br />13 <br />
