Milton Lake division. Fifty shares are issued and outstanding that are allocated for water
delivery purposes to the FRICO municipal division.
.FRICO, as a corporate entity, is the owner of 1,257 out of the 2,111 Burlington shares
allocated for water delivery purposes at or below Barr Lake. In addition, FRICO, the
Burlington Ditch Reservoir and Land Company (Burlington) and the Henrylyn Irrigation
District (Henrylyn) entered into a Water Division Agreement dated July 1, 1921, that
provides for the allocation of various of the rights held by the entities that are diverted
through the Burlington/O'Brien Canal, a structure in which each of the three contracting
entities have ownership, contractual and/or carriage rights.
While FRICO's decrees were originally adjudicated for irrigation uses, over the past 30 years
a significant portion of its shares, particularly in the Standley and Marshall Lake divisions
have been changed to allow for municipal uses of all types.
2,026 shares [85%] of the Standley Lake division have been changed to include municipal
uses. With additional water from the Church Ditch, the Farmers Highline System and
changed water rights from other Clear Creek systems that are diverted into the Standley
Lake system, Standley Lake now provides a significant portion of the municipal water supply
for more than 250,000 citizens of Westminster, Thornton and Northglenn.
646 shares [51%] of the Marshall Lake division have been changed to include municipal
uses. With additional water from other systems diverted through the Marshall Lake system,
the FRICO Marshall lake shares constitute a significant portion of the water supply of the
City of Louisville.
Other municipal users that hold FRICO shares, and which have either changed such shares
to municipal use or which hold such shares for the prospect of changing the use to include
municipal uses are:
2
