CNPPID Maintenance Activities:
Previous Flow Susnensions:
Operational Flow requirements were suspended at CNPPID's diversion dam from
October 4, 2001 to March 8, 2002 due to the rehabilitation of the J-2 hydro plant.
Operational Flow requirements were again suspended from March 28 to April 1, 2002 for
partial repair of the concrete apron below the J-2 hydro plant.
Projected Maintenance Activities:
Kingsley hydro will be offline from Apri122, 2002 to Apri126, 2002 for annual
inspection and maintenance.
Jeffrey hydro unit 2 and Johnson #1 unit 2 will be offline from October l, 2002 to
February 15, 2003 for rehabilitation. Central expects to be capable of ineeting the
minimum diversion requirements during the majority of these outages and will be able to
facilitate the release of Environmental Account water. Short periods of testing and
electrical connections may require the outage of both units at Jeffrey and a short-term
suspension of operational flow requirements.
There will be a four-day outage at Jeffrey hydro to change switchgear that will require
the suspension of operational flow requirements and likely require a diversion of no more
than 400 cfs.
Central is contemplating dewatering the J-2 tailrace to complete repairs on the concrete
apron. Dewatering would occur during the month of October and last from 17 to 30 days.
During that time, operational flows would be suspended and no water could be released
through the J-2 river return.
