• A summary of major South Platte reservoirs, including which ones store transmountain
diversions directly, and their specifications/status including: current storage vs average carry
over storage; total capacity; projected inflows and releases (ideally it would also be nice to
have a long-term (30?) year average to compare against include); and any other relevant
factors (i.e., losses, restrictions etc.).
• South Platte flows and projections at the Julesburg and Kersey Gauges and estimated time of
trav'qy between the two. We would want to include a long term (30?) average to help put
flow conditions during a given year into perspective.
• Snow pack and temperature information. Again having a long term (30 ?) average to help
provide perspective would be good. What source(s) of information are available? Should we
do basin wide average or look at subbasins? (i.e., Poudre area, South Park area, others?) The
intent is to anticipate the best time to make releases and avoid flooding .
• Information sources - What information sources are most useful to us?
If possible I would like to have a draft of this information by the end of December. Does it make
sense to have Jim collect and assemble the information? Please give rne a call at (303) 866-3441
X324 if you have nay questions.
Thank you for the help!
Cc: Hal Simpson
Kent Holsinger
L:/wctrans/
