III. Analysis
Comparisons among repeat cross sections were examined to identify natural
variability, intra annual variability, and to isolate errors from the individual surveys.
To assist in error analysis of topographic data and to insure that the channel bed is
being sufficiently described, the topographic data collected were inserted into the
USGS quasi-31) hydraulic modeled flow fields examined. A first year data report will
be published once all data reduction is completed.
IV. Information Dissemination
The USGS has provided periodic updates and presentations to the Technical
Committee, Platte River EIS Team, Parsons Engineering, The Whooping Crane
Maintenance Trust concerning the monitoring activities at the Cottonwood Ranch.
Preliminary data was released to Parsons Engineering and the Executive Director's
Office and has recently been available for dissemination on the USGS Platte River
Program web site (http://mcmcweb.er.usgs.gov/platte/) maintained by USGS
personnel in Rolla, MO. These data are preliminary and are released with a
disclaimer. The web site allows individuals to read about the project and access cross-
section survey data and sediment size data.
V. Cost Reimbursement
Reimbursement is requested as indicated on the attached table. This is the sole and
complete request for the federal fiscal year ending September 30, 2001. Please note
that costs exceeding the agreed upon budget are being borne by USGS.
