place by the Bureau of Reclamation and Nebraska Public Power District.lvew sections will
include only the river channels that mav potentially be directly affected by management practices
or downstream from managed areas. Each section will be resurveyed and re-photographed once
a year to document changes in bed elevation and the condition of banks and vegetation on islands
and adjacent to the channel. Across each section bed material samples will be collected and
composited in order to document potential changes in grain-size distribution. Bed material
samples will be analyzed using standard field and laboratory techniques (Edwards and Glysson,
1988 and Guy, 1969).
Proposed Products of Monitoring
The data will be compiled following each re-measurement and a comparative analysis
summarizing the observed changes in the over time will be annually provided to the Technical
Committee. This information will be provided to NPPD for consideration in permit reports,_and
compiled into data pages on an existing Internet site.
Proposed Monitoring Budget Summary
The Cooperative Agreement and Program would wholly fund this project.
