N2I14UTES OF TIHE SOUTH PLATTE LOWER RNER <br />GROUP, INC. <br />January 24, 2000 <br />President Steve Treadway called the meeting of the South Platte Lower River Group, Inc. <br />(SPLRG) to order. Introductions followed with 27 present including 4 Directors. <br />President Treadway asked if there were any additions to the Agenda. There were none. <br />Lou Rinaldo moved to approve the Minutes of the November 22, 1999 meeting. <br />Seconded by Mike Shannon. Motion carried. <br />Lou Rinaldo moved to accept the Financial Report. Seconded by Bill Condon. Motion <br />cazried. <br />Jon Altenhofen moved that SPLRG buy lunch following today's meeting for those who <br />wished to attend. Seconded by Alan Berryman. Motion carried. <br />Jon reminded the group that a tour of the Tamarack Ranch State Wildlife Area recharge <br />project is scheduled after lunch today. <br />Bill Condon moved that SPLRG hold their annual meeting in conjunction with the <br />LSPWCD's Spring Water Users Meeting on March 15, 2000. Seconded by Dave Little. <br />Motion carried. The meeting will be held at the Ramada Inn on US Hwy 6 and I-76, <br />Sterling, Colorado. <br />Brad Wind reported that three wells aze presently running at Tamarack with a flow rate of <br />about 10.5 cfs. Approximately two-thirds of the water is running into the existing <br />recharge basin and one-third is running into the ponds that will supply the live stream for <br />aquatic species. Plans include an additional four more wells that could pump into the <br />existing recharge basin and new basins. He stated that the artificial live stream should be <br />running in the near future. <br />Canfield is currently drilling six new test holes and one monitoring well at ?amarack. <br />CanSeld will then begin drilling seven production wells for recharge supply. A total of <br />ten wells should be pumping to recharge by next winter. Jon reviewed maps identifying <br />the location of recharge ponds, the three existing recharge wells and the seven new wells. <br />Funds for new wells is coming from the Capital Construction Fund of the Colorado <br />Division of Wildlife (CDOV) for $209,000. Ducks Unlimited is contributing $85,000 of <br />the Colorado Wetland Initiative Fund to be used for well development and wetland <br />construction in the meadows at Tamarack Ran.ch.
