LEGAL REPOltT: <br />Included in Counsel Lawrence's report were the following: <br />Counsel Lawrence asked the Directors to note a letter dated October 30, 2000 <br />to Bob Schott in which Counsel Lawrence states, "One thing we should not <br />overlook in seeking to get a full supply of water for augmentation is the purchase of <br />reservoir or ditch rights and then a change of use. Once Jon Altenhofen gets the <br />records of our current needs and deficits completesi, and app?ies the credits we have <br />now, we should investigate to see if the purchase of reservoir water or ditch water <br />would help us." <br />Discussion followed regarding the possibility of holding an informational meeting <br />with well owners/water users in the Sedgwick County area to discuss Compact <br />issues as well as potential and existing recharge facilities in the Ovid/Julesburg area. <br />A committee was appointed by President Powers to schedule a time, place and <br />agenda items for the meeting. Directors Crandall, Shimamoto and Frame will serve <br />on the committee with Director Fender appointed as chairman. Tim Haynes from <br />Julesburg who attended today's meetina also volunteered to serve on the <br />committee. <br />Director Bolinger made the motion to approve a$5.00/hour increase in Counsel <br />Lawrence'shourlv rate for services to the District for 2001. -Director Treadwav <br />seconded. Motion passed unanimously. ' <br />Director Edwards made the motion to authorize the River Monitoring Committee <br />to review the proposed Rulina on the Farmers Pawnee case #95-CW-263. Pendiniz <br />no ob1ections by the committee, Counsel Lawrence would then stipulate to the <br />proposed Rulinfz and the District would withdraw from further opposition in_ <br />the case. Director Treadwav seconded the motion which passed unanimouslV.. <br />Since the Farmers Pawnee's attorney has withdrawn from the case, Director <br />Treadwav made the motion to allow Counsel Lawrence to help finalize Application <br />of Farmer's Pawnee, Case #95-CW-263. Director Fender seconded. Motion passed <br />unanimouslv. <br />-4-
