Opposition to Northern, Case No. 92CW130 - Director Lingreen made the motion <br />that the District drop out of this case. Director Treadway seconded. 1Vlotion <br />carried. Director's Powers and Aranci abstained due to a conflict of interest. <br />Opposition to Pawnee Well Users, Case No. 04CW46 - Counsel Lawrence <br />reported that it appears they are following the terms and condi#ions used by the <br />Lower Logan Well Users and Sedgwick County Well Users in their plans so <br />Cnunsel Lawrence does not anticipate any problems. The District will continue to <br />follow the case. <br />Julesburg Well Users - Counsel Lawrence will be meeting with their <br />representatives today at 2:00 at the District office. The meeting will be held to <br />discuss the details of future operations of the Julesburg Well Users. <br />?RIES19JE1VT9S RLPORA: <br />President Stromberger stated that he and Manager Frank had met with representa.tives from <br />Central, Northern and the State Engineer's office on September 15ih regarding a possible <br />combined grant proposal on the Water 2025 funding through the Bureau of Reclamation. It <br />appears, at least initially, that each of the water districts have varying needs for use of the funds. <br />However, the agencies will keep in cantact and may still pursue a joint grant proposal depending <br />on availability of Water 2025 funding. <br />Brent Schantz from the Division of Water Resources also noted that at that same meeting the <br />agencies discussed the possibility of the State providing a training program for contractors and/or <br />farmers to understand the basic principles in selecting and installing proper flurnes to meet their <br />needs. Mr. Schantz offered to follow-up on that idea and report back. <br />MAllTAGER'S REP(;g$T: <br />Included in Manager Frank's report were the following: <br />Manager Frank attended a South Platte Decision Support System (SPDSS) <br />meeting at the Colorado Water Conservation Board office on October 3rd. The <br />main objective of this support system is overall water planning and modeling. <br />Manager Frank also attended two Statewide Water Supply Initiative (SWSn <br />technical roundtable meetings this past month: 1) Conservation and Efficiency <br />and, 2) Alternatives to Permanent Agriculture dry-up. Manager Frank noted that <br />any questians or comments from the Board would be forwarded to the group. <br />The next HB05-1177 Roundtable Discussion meeting for the South Platte basin <br />will be held on October 18`" at Northeastern Junior College. <br />-3-
