WATER RIGHTS <br />WATER RIGHTS <br />The Bowles No. 1 Reservoir water right is a part of the Bowles System Reservoirs water rights <br />which includes Bowles No. 1, Patrick, Upper Tule and Lower Tule reservoirs. The Bowles No. 1 <br />Reservoir has a defined storage capacity and shares an undivided prorata interest in the original <br />storage diversion decrees. The yield of Bowles No. 1 Reservoir was <br />evaluated by review of the past records of filling the reservoir maintained by the Colorado <br />Division of Water Resources (DWR) to ascertain the reservoir fill in wet and dry years. A <br />summary of the end-of month reservoir water levels is shown on in Table 4 for the years 1959 <br />through 2008. Note that the records are not complete for some of the years due to incomplete <br />records in the DWR. It is noted that the Bowles No. 1 Reservoir has the second-most senior <br />reservoir storage decree on the main stem of Bear Creek and on down the South Platte River to <br />the state line and, as such, it is generally expected to fill each year with diligent operation. <br />8 <br />
