PROJECT APPROACH

~:i

i
Real-time streamflow plots will be implemented in conjunction with access to real-time data.
Section 2 provides examples of real-time data and alerts. If appropriate, the website can redirect
users to the real-time data pages provided by DWR. However, it is assumed that streamflow data
products for the Flood DSS may require features beyond those available on the DNR website.
TSTooI can be used to generate products that are more complex, for example displaying real-
time precipitation and temperature data alongside streamflow, to support decision-making.
Figure 4-9 provides an example display of real-time streamflow data from HydroBase using the
TSTooI software. This capability was developed by Riverside and is currently available. The
use of TSTooI in CDSS for real-time data display has been limited, though it has been used for
other websites. The example display in Figure 4-9 plots the historical mean hydrograph with
recent streamflow data, illustrating that for the years shown, runoff has occurred earlier than the
long-term mean.
DNR RFP PDA-923 46 R I V E R S I D E
1
Figure 4-8.
