<br />WORK PROPOSED FOR FY 2009:
<br />Fish and Wildlife Management and Develapment - Continues implementation of the Platte River
<br />Recovery Implementation ProUram to provide ESA compliance for Reclamation projects in the North and
<br />South Platte hasins. Activities include acquisition of water leases to inerease river flows and purchase or
<br />lease of habitat lands in the Habitat Area. Other work projects include water conservation and
<br />management projects to improve and change the timing of flows throvgh the Central Platte River Habitat
<br />Area. Activities also include the research on target species habitat needs and habitat use; adaptive
<br />management investigations of inethods for offsetting erosion of the river channel and for restoring braided
<br />river; restoration and management of river channei and wet meadow habitat, and monitoring of program
<br />implementation and habitat variables to assess both baseline conditions and Progracn benefits, lncrease in
<br />fur:ding is dae to acquisition of water ieases and purchase or lease of habitat lands.
