This paper describes study objectives for the
endangered fishes of the Colorado River. The
distribution and movement of Colorado squaw-
fiah (Ptychocheilua lucius) to and from spawn-
ing sites were studied through the use of
radiotelemetry. Collections of larval and
young-of-the-year (YOY) aquawfiah were made to
evaluate spawning success and survival, and
identify nursery areas. A study was also con-
ducted in a section of the Green River in Utah
to evaluate the effects of altered flows from
the Flaming Gorge Dam on survival and rearing
of YOY squawfiah.
