RECOiviriENDATIONS FOR 1982 SPALtiTNING SEASON
a. The flow through pond with a gravel bed placed on a liner needs to be
tried with ripe females.
b. Injections of chorionic gonadotropin at 300, 400 and S00 IL' per pound
with hand stripping and fertilization of eggs.
c. Circular tank spawning with ripe females in conjunction with daily
injections of chorionic gonadotropin of 300, 400 or 500 IU per pound.
d. Egg hatching in Heath incubators, circular tanks and/or trans susp~.n<ied
in tanks.
e. Fungus control of eggs in Heath incubator with ten minute flow tl~roubh
treatments of 1:100 formalin daily for the first four days or at last
the second and early on the fourth day after fertilization.
f. Start preparing rearing ponds at least two weeks to one month in advance,
