1 <br />PREFACE <br />1 <br /> ' <br />This report was prepared for the Recovery Program for the Endangered Fishes of the <br />Upper Colorado River Basin (Recovery Program) as part of a FY 1997 project entitled Ice <br />Formation, Breakup, and Movement in the Green River as a Function of Regulated Winter Flows <br />from Flaming Gorge Dam. The Recovery Program is a joint effort of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife <br />Service, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Western Area Power Administration, the states of <br />Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming, upper basin water users, environmental organizations, and the <br />Colorado River Energy Distributor's Association. This project was completed through a <br />cooperative effort among the U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory, <br />Argonne National Laboratory, BIO/WEST, and Western Area Power Administration. <br />We thank Steve Petersburg of the National Park Service, Dinosaur National Monument <br />fvr granting a scientific research permit and Steven Brock and Daniel Schaad of the Ouray <br />National Wildlife Refuge for their cooperation with providing the appropriate permits and access <br />to roads and other areas at the refuge. <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />r~ <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />iv <br />
