Patterns of Na` concentrations are similar to the
conductivity patterns described above, being highest in the north
(Figure 15). The gradients are strong; sodium concentrations at
station 7 are 30 time higher than the Green River, and 5 to 10
times higher than many wetland stations.
The low conductivities and low sodium concentrations at
stations 6 and 11 indicate that they-are influenced almost
entirely by the chemically similar Green River. Strong chemical
gradients occur in the area between station it (conductivity of
254 uS/cma) and the nearby station 8 (conductivity nearly 11,400
u5/cm2) .
2.6095
2,609
2.6085
2.608
2.6075
° 2.607
2.6065
2.606
2.6055
2.605
2.6045
Sodium concentrations, mg/L, Escalante Ranch
•
i- =springs
~- N 167 5
Terrace
t, 000 feel ~ 200
356
Terrace
Low
Escarpment Wetland 533
825 LO W
1860 320
High 3z 1
Very LOW 75.8
ike 68.6 High
60.5 Dike 4620
Green River "'---~-
60.5 761.5 762.5 763.5 764.5 765.5 766.5
761 762 763 764 765 766 767
(ThousaMs)
Figure 15.
