Ranch on the Green River just upstream from Jensen, Utah; 2) Old
Charlie Wash and Wyasket Bottom along the Green River on the
Ouray National Wildlife Refuge near Vernal, Utah; 3} Moab Slough '~
along the Colorado River at Moab, Utah; 4) Escalante State
Wildlife Area near Delta Colorado on the Gunnison River; and 5)
Gravel-pit at 29- 5/8 mile road along the Colorado River near
-Grand Junction, Colorado. -The first four sites were investigated
in detail, while the last site was only partially investigated.
Field-investigations to determine how each site is
'functioning at present were performed during the-summer of 1993.
-Our studies included surface and ground water hydrology, water
..chemistry - water quality, vegetation, invertebrate fauna, site-
-, history and evolution-,.and site potential far supporting
razorback suckers.
This report provides the results of-our field investigations
and summarizes our understanding of how the site functions today.-
We also provide recommendations for site enhancement that we-feel
'would benefit razorback suckers, based upon our current
understanding of fish life history requirements.
3
