The same pattern, but perhaps even more striking is <br />illustrated in Figure 7 which shown the number: of~days with flows----- <br />-. equal to or exceeding 40,000 cfs. .Not a single year between 1959 <br />-and 1982 had-more than 5 days with flows greater than 40,000 cfs. <br />As mentioned above, 40,000 cfs is the flow required to produce <br />overbank flooding. Thus, the frequency of events equal to or <br />exceeding this flow is critical. .Five-days of overbank flooding <br />is enough to significantly effect the Moab Slough. <br />It is also striking-that the high flow years typic-ally occur <br />in groups of two or more.
