backwater habitats at RMI 297.0, RMI 297.5, and RMI 297.7. On 14 September,
203 fish were again stocked into the same backwater habitats as on 9 September.
On 23 September, four fish were also stocked into the same backwater habitats
as on 9 September.
As of this writing, only one fish from pond #1 has been recaptured. This
fish was captured at RMI 295.5, in the upper portion of a backwater habitat,
near woody debris, on 27 September. The fish measured 142 mm TL, and the
right pelvic fin was missing. The fish had either been holding in the same
backwater habitat since 8 September, or had moved downriver from one of the
other backwater habitats that had been earlier stocked. Evidence from other
razorback suckers stocked during September, in the same backwater habitats as
the fish from pond #1, suggests that the fish are moving downriver (Beard
1988).
Date
----- ------ ----------- ------- Total
9/8 9/9 9/14 9/23 in BA
RMI 295.5 50 0 0 0 50
RMI 297.0 50 70 63 2 185
RMI 297.5 50 70 70 1 191
RMI 297.8 50 70 70 1 191
617
t;
Table 6.
