The fish were confined in pond #2 and tanks #1 and #2 until 15-16 April
1988. As the fish were removed, individual measurements of size and weight
were made. A total of 1,122 fish were removed from pond #2, and a total of
1,454 fish were removed from tanks #1 and #2. Fish from pond #2 were
transferred to tank #3, fish from tank #1 were transferred to tank #2, and fish
from tank #2 were transferred to tank #4.
As mentioned above, a total of 1,122 fish were removed from pond #2 (78.7%
survivability). These fish ranged in size from 63 mm to 209 mm TL (Figure 4),
with a mean TL of 117.493 mm, and a total weight of 24,037 grams (21.4 g/fish).
During the fishes confinement in the pond #2, water temperatures varied from
3-120C, and dissolved oxygen levels ranged between 4.7-10.4 ppm (Appendix A).
In addition to the plant and animal material available in the pond as food, the
fish were also fed 12,701 grams of commercial trout diet.
As mentioned above, a total of 1,454 fish were removed from tanks #1 and
#2 (92.5% survivability). These fish ranged in size from 69 mm to 207 mm TL
(Figure 5), with a mean TL of 114.62 mm, and a total weight of 27,875 grams
(19.2 g/fish).
A total of 702 fish were removed from tank C. These fish ranged in size
from 70 mm to 207 mm TL, and weighed a total of 15,035 grams (21.4 g/fish).
During the fishes confinement in tank #1, water temperatures varied from
10-11.80C, and dissolved oxygen levels ranged between 4.2-9.4 ppm (Appendix 6).
The fish were fed a total of 18,030 grams of commercial trout diet, and nine
mortalities were recorded.
A total of 752 fish were removed from tank #2.
