This study suggests that larval entrainment into floodplain depressions is one of the most
important variables in improving wild razorback sucker survival. Methods to improve larval
razorback sucker entrainment should be evaluated and implemented; these include, connection
configuration, floodplain location, and river flows.
In reset floodplains fish survival is only important to recovery if endangered fish recruit back
to the river before the site dries up in a low water year. Therefore, it is essential that we
understand and optimize the conditions necessary for these fish to return to the river. Factors to
~ evaluate include, water depth at the floodplain/river connection, water temperature, connection
timing and duration.

[~
19
