All four sites
are located at the lower terminus of a-rapid and are situated on a bend in the river affording
deeper habitats along a steep walled shoreline and shallow, cobble and smaller sized sediment
based habitats along the gradual sloping, depositional shoreline. Depth transects run at each of
these fow sites in 1994 revealed the following maximum depths: Cedar Ridge (RM 184.8) _
6.Sm; Below Surprise (RM 175.3) = 9.7m; Joe Hutch (RM _160) = 6.8m; Coal CK (RM 145.5) _
6.Im.
DRAFT
2
