Abstract (Limit: 200 words) <br />The current status of techniques and developments relating to the long-term <br />identification of salmonid fish is reviewed and described. The literature <br />that may relate to future techniques is discussed. Techniques include coded <br />wire tags, passive integrated responders, branding, tetracycline, fluorescent <br />pigments, dyes and microtaggants, meristics and morphometrics, electrophoresis <br />and serological techniques, genetic tagging, and parasites. <br />17.
