(2) Current conditions represent habitat areas in 4 study sites at Ute Water's current level of water use, adjusted for prior Section 7 consultations. (3) Future conditions represent habitat areas predicted after deducting Ute Water's additional diversions upstream of the 15-mile reach under future (year 2045) demands. (4) Habitat loss over full 15-mile reach estimated by dividing loss in 4 sites by 0.668; based on statement in USFWS May 1995 report that 66.8% of all squawfish radiotelemetry locations in the 15-mile reach occurred within the 4 study sites. (5) USFWS areas reported in units of m2, converted to acres by multiplying by .0002471. (6) Shaded areas are preferred habitat, as noted by USFWS in their May 1995 report, with order of preference being eddies, pools, and backwaters in the summer (page 28) and pools, eddies, and backwaters in the winter (page 33).
