ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
This recovery plan was prepared under contract with the Center for
Limnology, University of Colorado at Boulder. After completion of a draft
plan, it was revised to address comments received from the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service, Colorado River Fishes Recovery Team, Dr. W. L. Minckley, Dr.
P.B. Marsh, and other experts on endangered fishes. Biologists of the U. S.
Fish and Wildlife Service, including O.E. Bray, H.R. Maddux, and R.S. Wydoski
contributed information, including an implementation schedule and projected
recovery costs. Preparation of this plan was greatly aided by review of
reports written by Maddux et al. (1993), K.R. Bestgen (1990), and W.L.
Minckley et al. (1991). We are grateful for permission to use various tables,
figures, and other information from the "Colorado River Endangered Fishes
Critical Habitat Draft Biological Support Document" by Maddux et al. (1993).
J. F. Saunders, III and D.J. Allen assisted by compiling data, abstracting
critical habitat information, and editing the draft report. O.E. Bray, and
R.S. Wydoski provided suggestions to the draft manuscript and served as
technical editors.
The Colorado River Fishes Recovery Team is composed of the following
individuals:
Steve Petersburg, Team Leader, National Park Service, 1976-1996; Team
Leader, 1989 to present.
----- (NOTE: add rest of current team members)
vi
