11 <br />Creel clerks informally reported that channel catfish were <br />nearly always the target species of anglers. Catfish were the <br />only species harvested consistently, although carp (Cyprinus <br />carpio) were occasionally harvested. Catch rates for catfish <br />were consistently higher on the Colorado River, generally greater <br />than 1.5/hr, than on the Green River (generally less than <br />0.5/hr). Some anglers on the Green River were targeting northern <br />pike (Esox lucius), although none were caught during the survey. <br />One rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was caught on the Green <br />River. <br />The majority of native fishes caught during the survey were <br />bluehead sucker (Catostomus discobolus) and flannelmouth sucker <br />(C. Iatipinnis). Two Gila sp., probably roundtail chub (G. <br />robusta), were reported from the Colorado River. All native <br />fishes were reported as released by anglers. The Colorado <br />squawfish catch is discussed below. <br />
