6
weekdays, and from 6 to 12 on weekends. Pressure was higher on
the Colorado River than the Green River in average anglers per
day.
Estimated pressure was more variable on the Green River than
on the Colorado River. Numbers of anglers ranged from 82 to 22
per month (Figure 2). The total estimated pressure was higher
for weekday strata than weekend strata with the exception of
April/May. Similar to the Colorado River, the average anglers-
per-day on the Green River were higher on weekend days than
weekdays in all months.
The recorded total angler hours, estimated angler days, and
the average hours each angler fished are given in Tables 2 and 3.
The complete and incomplete trip lengths reflect only the time
spent fishing before the interview. Complete trip length was not
recorded on the Colorado River. Trip lengths ranged from 0 to 20
hours with an average of 1.82 hours (5E=2.4) for all strata and
months.
The average length of complete and incomplete trips are
shown separately for the Green River (Figure 3). Combined trip
lengths ranged from 0-14 hours with an average of 2.2 (SE=2.5).
Shorter trips are probably more likely to have been reported as
complete than long trips, since longer trips may continue past
the survey hours. The average length of completed trips may
appear to be lower than it actually is.
