The <br />.lower river was difficult to sample, especially since dynamite was <br />,not used. at that time, and this may account for the failure to pick <br />up some of the above species. However, brown trout, channel <br />catfish, and sculpins were found during the treatment, The Utah <br />chub Gila atraria (Girard and the Utah sucker were the only fish <br />-----species not reported by either Bosley (1960) or McDonald and <br />Dotson (1960). Neither species was believed to be common prior <br />to treatment; however, Miller reported that he had found the Utah <br />chub prior to treatment 3 The humpback chub (Gila cypher Miller) <br />~.., _.___...m_ _~ .__. _ <br />has been reported from this section of the river, but its existence <br />in the river at the time of treatment is not certain at the present <br />time. <br />30ra1 communication with Dr. Robert R.
