' mid- to late-June were in a similar 16 to 20°C ran a but unlike conditions in the Yam a River,
g~ p
' mid- and late-summer water temperatures were usually declining and discharge was increasing.
Lower Browns Park temperature model predictions suggested that at base flows of
' 25 m3/s, water temperatures would exceed 19°C for nearly four weeks (Fig. 17). At base flows
' of 37.5 and 50 m3/s ,water temperatures were not predicted to exceed 18 and 17°C, respectively.
Water temperature predictions for models constructed for upper and lower Browns Park
' and lower Lodore Canyon showed a similar rate of decline as summer discharge increased when
air temperature was held at the mean daily summer average of 19.3°C (Fig 18). As expected,
' water temperatures were warmer at downstream sites, and at all discharge levels examined,
' temperatures warmed about 2°C at each successive downstream station. Consistent differences
between sites should be expected since the distances between the sites were similar.

25
