14
Water Conservancy District is studying other alternatives. The Diamond Fork
Pipeline is under construction.
All Diamond Fork facilities were built with the commitment to divert 101,900
acre-feet to the Bonneville Basin. However, if the Spanish Fork-Nephi Project
No Action Alternative is selected in a future Record of Decision, the.
transbasin diversion would be reduced to 96,800 acre-feet. The Final
Supplement to the Diamond Fork Final Environmental Impact Statement and the
July 1990 Record of Decision commit to a complete evaluation and comparison of
impacts associated with the Spanish Fork-Nephi system on resources of
Strawberry Reservoir, Utah Lake, the Jordan River, and Utah Valley streams.
This impact analysis would be included in the Spanish Fork-Nephi draft
Environmental Impact Statement.
Spanish Fork Canyon-Ne i Irrigation S sy tem
The Spanish Fork Canyon-Nephi Irrigation System was formerly known as the
Irrigation and Drainage System and begins at the confluence of Diamond Fork
Creek and the Spanish Fork River. The
water supply will be provided through transbasin diversion from Strawberry
Reservoir through the Diamond Fork System to the Spanish Fork-Nephi System.
The Spanish Fork-Nephi System's Main Conveyance Aqueduct will connect directly
to the Diamond Fork Pipeline and will have a maximum flow capacity of 560 cfs.
The Spanish Fork-Nephi System Draft Environmental Impact Statement has been
released for review and comments.
Central Utah Project - Uinta Basin Replacement Project
The Upalco Unit of the Uinta Basin Replacement Project would develop flows of
the Lake Fork and Yellowstone Rivers, with minor contributions from other
small streams for irrigation of Indian and secondary lands and municipal and
industrial water uses.
